JRU, a founding institutional member of the Ortigas Center Library Consortium (OCLC), has been instrumental in the professional development of librarians over the last several years. The forum entitled “Strategies in Effective Searching of Information” was recently concluded last July 16, 2008, at the JRU Library AVR with more than 80 participants. The guest speaker Dr. Angelina P. Resurreccion discussed new techniques and research tools now being used for more effective searches of needed information. The forum also enhanced the ability of librarians and support staff in more effective utilization of library resources and means of information retrieval.

Other officers include Ms. Celia C. Cruz of Ortigas Foundation Library as Vice President, Ms. Edith M. Dumo of NEDA as Treasurer, Ms. Teresita P. Osorio of Pasig City Library and Ms. Abigael M. Araojo of Gokongwei Bros. Foundation serve as consortium directors.
